Two years ago, a group of Pacific NW friends and investors came together with a long-term vision to own and operate Witness Tree Vineyard, a historic and uniquely special 100-acre property in the heart of the Willamette Valley’s renowned Eola-Amity Hills wine growing region / AVA.
Witness is the product of our team’s collective vision, to make wines with the very best expression of the land, that is Witness Tree Vineyard.
Matt Felton
Managing Partner
Matt Felton is the visionary behind our wine project, blending his 25 year passion for fine wine with an unwavering commitment to excellence. With the goal of starting small, and the mantra to never compromise quality at the expense of quantity, Matt has assembled a best-in-class team of experts specializing in viticulture, winemaking, blending, and marketing to make the vision of Witness, a reality in the glass.
Jorge Chavez
Vineyard Manager
Jorge Chavez is the heart and soul of our vineyard operations, bringing his extensive knowledge and hands-on experience to the cultivation of our grapes. With a background in agricultural science and a lifetime spent working in vineyards, Jorge has an innate understanding of what it takes to grow premium-quality grapes. His expertise in soil management, pest control, and irrigation techniques ensures that our vines are healthy and productive, year after year. Jorge leads a long-standing, hard-working farming team who are dedicated to the land of Witness Tree, several of whom live in residences on-site.
Jorge's dedication goes beyond just managing the day-to-day operations of the vineyard. He is passionate about innovation and continuously seeks out new methods to enhance grape quality while preserving the environment. His commitment to sustainable farming practices is integral to our winery's mission, and his hard work behind the scenes allows us to produce wines that truly express the character and potential of our vineyard.
Alban Debeaulieu
Consulting Winemaker
Alban Debeaulieu is a renowned winemaker whose expertise overseeing our project, has elevated our wines to another level. With a rich background in oenology and viticulture from some of the most prestigious wine-makers in Burgundy, and then Oregon, Alban brings a wealth of knowledge and a refined house style to the wines. His international experience and innovative approach to winemaking ensure that our wines are both technically superb and uniquely expressive of our terroir.
Alban's role extends beyond the cellar, as he collaborates closely with our vineyard team to ensure that the grapes are grown and harvested to the highest standards. His meticulous attention to detail and passion for perfection are evident in every bottle, making each sip a reflection of his artistry and dedication
Shane Moore
Viticulture Consultant
Shane Moore oversees the farming team from the 10,000 foot level. With a strong background in agricultural management and a keen eye for detail, Shane oversees all aspects of vineyard health, and quality control. His organizational skills and proactive approach help streamline processes and maintain the high standards that our winery is known for.
In addition to his operational expertise, Shane is deeply committed to fostering a collaborative and positive work environment. He believes that a happy and motivated team is essential to producing exceptional wines, and his leadership style reflects this philosophy. Shane's dedication and hard work behind the scenes make it possible for us to deliver an outstanding experience to our customers, whether they're enjoying a bottle at home or visiting our winery in person.
